Bristol Dragon Boats "Awaken!!"

After many years of fundraising and looking for a means to get a dragon boat of racing standard Bristol Empire Dragons foundthe perfect partner with the SITATRUST and now have a fully fledged 20 person racing boat of lightweight design supplied by BUK boats and a 10 person boat also by BUK.

As this was such a great ocassion it needed celebrating so what better than to involve the awakening ceremony into the Chinese New Celebration at the Bristol M-Shed today complete with the Lord Mayor, Bhuddist Monks, members of the Bristol China Partnership current team members and those fron the early days of Bristol Empire Dragons. Despite the rain it was a good turnout and everyone enjoyed themselves - especially when our race boat Yinglong was named as it is the Dragon that controls the floods and the deluge of rain!! Rather apt we thought - it is hoped that this dragon can do as it is proclaimed and that it will control the rain!
