ABOUT US & THIS SITE:
On this site you will find all the information you need to know about Bristol Empire Dragons the sport of Dragon Boat Racing and our charity fund raising challenges and charity crew training.
We pride ourselves on being probably the most competitive, yet friendly and happiest club on the circuit. We take our racing seriously and whilst being one of the smallest teams on the circuit punch well above our weight regularly achieving amazing results in the league and winter series racing.
We welcome everyone to come and try out dragon boat racing you are neither too young too old too fit or unfit to have a go and maybe take it up as a sport. If you enjoy making new friends, enjoy being part of team working for each other but most of all having fun - then look no further!
We pride ourselves on supporting our local charity teams by giving them the training that gives them the edge in the charity dragon boat races in the area, setting ourselves challenges that stretches our bodies and our mental toughness, such as paddling a dragon boat from; Bristol to London in 2006; Birmingham to Bristol 2007; a triathlon including a 90 mile cycle, 35 mile walk, 35 mile dragon boat 2008, paddling an O1 from Hereford to Monmouth in under 10 hours 2009.
A trio of the team cycling Lands to Jon O'Groats in 2009 and then from Bristol to Rome in 2010 - Why do we do it, because we can and because it raises thousands of pounds for charity.
So if you fancy a challenge then come along - who knows you may have a challenge for us?
